Our Favorites list
Lonely Planet: Travel Guides
The #1 name in travel guides. There are many guidebook options, but for us, Lonely Planet is the only choice. Fun, well-written and up to date. Now Available for Kindle! For budget through luxury travelers, not just another dry travel book.
Earth Class Mail: Your Snail Mail Online
Get your mail while you're on the road! We use Earth Class Mail (ECM) for both personal and business. Your snail mail comes via email or you can check ECM's secure site directly anywhere in the world. Download a PDF copy, forward, recycle, or shred the original—It's up to you. Even receive & deposit checks. Starting at $19.95/month. This is the perfect plan for most travelers and less than the cost of UPS Store (and UPS can't scan your stuff).
SmugMug: Upload Photos As You Travel
We travelers need a place for our photo memories. Upload on the road. Share with family & friends. Create a blog. Heck, sell prints if you want. There are many online photo services, but SmugMug has the best interface, service and unlimited storage. It's cool, sleek, easy and their service is great (real humans and everything!) Small annual fee starting at $24/yr.
RingCentral: Your Phone Anywhere
RingCentral is business class VoIP phone for the world traveler. We've used RingCentral since 2007. They offer phone numbers in every state in the USA, Canada, UK. They have a great an iPhone app (Google Voice can't say that). RingCentral routes calls to wherever you are (laptop, mobile, landline, everywhere at once). There's so much more to say. Check it out! RingCentral covers it all.
GAP Adventures: Responsible Worldwide Tours
Our favorite global adventure tour operator. If you're hiking the Inca Trail or backpacking Southeast Asia, on Safari or exploring the Amazon—Check out GAP's amazing trips. GAP specializes in responsible travel and Canada loves them as one of the top 50 places to work.
Mozy: Best Backup for PC and Mac
Mozy's small app backs up unlimited data from your computer. You schedule a backup time, Mozy does its thing and you never think about it. Mozy saved us more than once and provides peace of mind for $4.95/month. If crisis strikes, download your files to your computer within minutes. If your notebook bathes in a fresh Venti Cinnamon Dolce Latte—Mozy will FedEx your files overnight on DVD. Highly recommended for any road warrior or intrepid traveler.
